Make invisible water paths visible – with one of the world’s strongest tracer dyes
Trotec Uranin is a classic, highly fluorescent tracer dye that has been trusted for decades for leak detection and flow path verification. This extremely water-soluble powder is already visible to the naked eye at very low concentrations and becomes brilliantly fluorescent yellow-green to green when illuminated with UV light at 365 nm, making even the smallest leaks and moisture paths clearly detectable. While the pure powder or highly concentrated solutions appear dark red and non-fluorescent, the typical strong fluorescence develops only after dilution. Uranin is toxicologically harmless in application concentrations, shows very little adhesion to rock surfaces and many building materials, and is therefore ideal for tracing underground water flows, checking pipe systems, and performing tightness tests. Since it breaks down under daylight within a few days, it is also well suited for temporary markings, for example in building leak detection. Uranin Green is not suitable for use as a food dye.
