The device is already calibrated at the factory using a high-concentration salt solution. This often leads to the formation of salt crystals on the diaphragm electrode (fibre bundle) in practice. The visible residues are completely normal for pH measuring electrodes of this type.
They are harmless to the electrode, can be easily rinsed off with water, and therefore do not represent a quality defect!
