Compared to its predecessor PD100, the PD200 impresses with extremely compact dimensions – the device size has been reduced by more than 30%. This compact design makes transport significantly easier, for example through narrow safety ladders to flat roofs. At the same time, the PD200 also wins in terms of weight: despite some heavy individual components such as the transformer, the total system weight has been reduced by around 20% from 11.2 kg to just 8.5 kg.
Clearly visible signal lamps are mounted on top of the housing: a green lamp for the standard impulse signal and a red lamp for short-circuit indication, both with an integrated acoustic signal generator. The visual and acoustic signals can be seen and heard from almost anywhere on the roof and are protected against damage by a robust steel guard. The green signal indicates when an impulse is applied to the ring main, while the red signal warns of a short circuit. The acoustic signal sounds only when the respective function is activated.
