Description
Applications and usage
- Liquid detection in buildings / technical sites
- Installation along walls and steps to protect rooms or entire floors
- Monitoring water outside bathrooms in hotels
- Data centers – leak detection under raised floors and above suspended ceilings.
- Server rooms / IT racks – early warning for leaks around cooling units and cable trays.
- HVAC systems – monitoring leaks from A/C units, chillers, and condensation pipes.
- Boiler rooms – detection of leaks from boilers, pumps, and valves.
- Building basements – early detection of flooding or groundwater ingress.
- Industrial facilities – monitoring around pipelines, tanks, and production lines.
- Commercial buildings – installation along walls and floors to protect offices and common areas.
- Hotels – monitoring bathrooms, corridors, and technical areas to prevent water damage.
- Hospitals and labs – protection of sensitive areas with critical equipment.
- Warehouses and archives – prevention of water damage to stored goods and documents.
Available lengths of WLD sensing cable B
- WLD_Sensing cable B_2m
- WLD_Sensing cable B_5m
- WLD_Sensing cable B_10m
- WLD_Sensing cable B_50m
- All versions are supplied with a 2 m connecting cable.
The WLD Sensing Cable Type B is a cable-based sensor for detecting the presence of conductive liquids. Detection occurs along the entire cable length, so even a few drops entering the zone trigger early warning.
With its smaller diameter, WLD sensing cable B is thinner and dries faster (for re-use) than Type A. Both Type A and Type B use the same 2-pin locking connector and can be combined within a single WLD zone.
The WLD sensing cable is the essential component of the WLD system, it is connected to the “WLD zone” input on LAN, LTE or KNX connected device.
End user benefits
- Early warning – even the first drops of liquid are detected
- No false alarms
- Continuous detection of water or other conductive liquids along the entire cable length (extended area monitoring)
- System reaction time 1–5 minutes (from first drops to ringing phone(s))
- Long-term reliability of the HWg WLD system
- Integration with other systems (Relay output, LAN, LTE, KNX)
- Part of HW group RME (Remote Monitoring Ecosystem) with reliable SMS/Call alerting or SensDesk Technology-based portal
- Fast & easy installation (WLD_Cover Strip, WLD_Poro Tape)
- Cable extension possible using non-sensing extension cables (cost-effective), up to 185 m per zone
- Re-usable cable (can be cleaned, dried and re-installed)
